L.I.C.I.A. GENERAL MEETING
MINUTES MAY 21, 2009
The meeting was called to order at 7:05 by President Dirk Lowry. First on the agenda were the approval of the Treasurer’s and Secretary’s Report. They were voted on and approved by all.
Dirk then gave an update on the Value-Place hotel project. The prior commission meeting that denied the plat, had been overturned. This was going to be addressed at the next commission meeting held on June 2nd. The next step would be to try and get the site plan approved. Our neighborhood will need to show up with as many persons as possible to voice our concerns at these meetings. The new Mayor Jack Seiler is against this project and willing to help us in the cause.
The sound-barrier along I-595 was discussed and the approximate starting point will be near Marathon Lane and continue west. Construction is to begin this summer.
Blake Spurlin, our new web-site coordinator, gave a description of the new layout for the crowd. It was mentioned that anyone can request to receive their newsletter via e-mail. Also ads could be on-line. If anyone has articles of interest, you should forward these to Blake.
New business included: possible speakers at upcoming general meetings could be Jack Seiler; also businesses that deal in the Loan Modification Plan. Anyone affected by foreclosure and/or bankruptcy could benefit from this type of speaker. One last item mentioned was the problem of the homeless people under the 595 bridge, and also the numerous workers at the BP gas station on 441.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:00.
Respectfully submitted by Secretary,
Ruth Ann Lindgren
