The meeting was called to order at 7:05 by President Dirk Lowry. There were enough members present for a quorum. An update from the S.W. Coalition meeting was given. Items discussed were: beach improvements, rail system, boating issues; a premier park system with a health and wellness system. Next item was regarding the Neighborhood Recognition Program in Fort Lauderdale, which we were nominated for with our new lane signs. Fort Lauderdale is also offering flu shots next October. This could be arranged to take place at the yacht club if there is any interest in our neighborhood. More details will follow.
Mike discussed the web-site update. We have a volunteer, Blake Spurlin, who is willing to take over the job. The board voted on this issue and approved the motion to add Blake as the web-site manager.
The Treasurer’s and Secretary’s report was given, and approved by all.
New business discussed consisted of:
re-instituting the Beautification committee;
a summer time party
organizing a neighborhood help program to
assist others during hurricane times
completing the by-laws
Old business discussed is the continuing problem of motorcycle noise along I-595.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:06.
Respectfully submitted by secretary
Ruth Ann Lindgren
